Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Columbus, OH is hiring a Cashier/Checker to deliver an outstanding customer experience, greet shoppers, and assist with their needs at the register. You will be the friendly face guiding customers through their purchase and loyalty programs.

Responsibilities include processing transactions accurately, handling cash, checks, cards and other tenders, and following store policies to control loss while keeping the checkout area clean and welcoming.

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker is responsible for greeting, engaging and assisting customers.
• Cashiers process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Checkers understand the POS system and handle tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers.
• Checker adheres to policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Cashier follows guidelines for restricted sale items and reports pricing discrepancies.
• Maintain awareness of ads, food safety regulations, and safety procedures; assist with minor safety issues.
