Job summary

Kroger in Ripley, WV is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer service at the lane. You will greet customers, scan items, handle transactions quickly and accurately, and operate the POS system.

You will adhere to safety, loss prevention, and food safety guidelines, manage cash and other tender types, and contribute to a clean, welcoming store that supports our customers and community.

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, coupons and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss-prevention guidelines.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Maintain food safety guidelines and store cleanliness.
• Provide friendly product information and answer customer questions to create a welcoming environment.
• Follow local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
