Qualifications

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers visibly in the store
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers
• Adhere to company cash handling limits and loss-prevention policies
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and follow pricing procedures
• Maintain awareness of ads and promotions and apply them at checkout
• Uphold food safety regulations and store cleanliness
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; participate in preventive maintenance
• Respond to customer questions about products and store services
