Job summary

Kroger Buckeye, AZ is seeking a dedicated Front End Associate to deliver outstanding customer service, manage checkout operations, stock shelves, and maintain store appearance in a fast-paced environment.

You will greet customers, assist them in finding products, resolve issues promptly, uphold safety standards, and support the service operations manager as needed. Join a team focused on quality, respect, and growth.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Sound judgement/decision making skills.
• Friendly, approachable/outgoing demeanor and a team player.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service with sincerity, patience and respect.
• Greet customers and assist them by escorting to products and retrieving items.
• Anticipate customer needs, communicate effectively, and resolve issues promptly.
• Oversee front end operations to meet sales, profit and labor goals with cost control.
• Determine work priorities and maintain front end conditions.
• Ensure prompt, accurate checkout and adherence to policies and laws.
• Train and coach associates on front end policies and procedures to reduce shrink.
• Communicate pricing discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
• Provide back-up coverage for the service operations manager.
• Know checkout policies, operations and bookkeeping tasks.
• Operate equipment per company standards.
• Assist with front-end functions including stocking, bagging, and cleaning.
• Comply with food safety, sanitation and safety regulations; report unsafe conditions.
