Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a customer-focused associate to greet customers, operate the check lane, and assist with product inquiries. This role supports a fast-paced store environment and requires accuracy in handling various payment methods and promotions.

You will follow safety guidelines, manage stock and equipment checks, and contribute to a welcoming store atmosphere for all customers. Part-time opportunities and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, OFFLINE SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and reduce losses.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety guidelines.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Provide customer assistance and answer product questions across the store.
• Follow all laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in busy or stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Skills
