Job summary

ABB is seeking a Customer Electrical Quality Specialist (Engineer) to join the Richmond, VA site. You will resolve customer complaints, analyze defects, and prepare 8D/Analysis reports for PDU, STS, and UPS products used in data centers.

This onsite role reports to the Customer Quality Lead. You will visit customer sites, perform root cause analysis, drive containment and corrective actions, and lead continuous improvement projects with field service and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics engineering or a related discipline; 2+ years in manufacturing or quality control.
• Hands-on testing and servicing of electrical distribution and control systems (transformers, PDUs, STS, UPS).
• Ability to read schematics and use test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers).
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, PPS and other process-improvement methodologies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Resolve customer complaints and analyze defects; prepare 8D/Analysis reports.
• Visit customer sites to gather feedback and provide technical support.
• Lead containment and corrective actions with field service and process quality engineers.
• Drive continuous improvement in products and processes and support safety and integrity.
