Job summary

ABB is seeking a Customer Electrical Quality Specialist (Engineer) to enhance customer satisfaction by resolving complaints and analyzing defects in data-center power products (PDU, STS, UPS). Onsite in Richmond, VA, you’ll conduct root-cause analysis, perform on-site visits, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electrical or electronics engineering or a related field, plus minimum 2 years in manufacturing or quality control.
• Hands-on experience with transformers, PDUs, STSs and UPS products; testing, troubleshooting, evaluating and servicing electrical distribution and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical equipment and PCBAs; proficiency with electrical test equipment.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma and PPS process improvement methodologies; knowledge of UL/NEMA/IEEE standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Resolve customer complaints by analyzing defects and preparing comprehensive 8D/Analysis reports.
• Conduct on-site customer visits to address issues, provide technical support, and coordinate defective material collection.
• Collaborate with field project, service, process quality and engineering teams to implement containment and corrective actions.
• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects and cost-saving initiatives to elevate product quality and efficiency.
