Job summary

ABB is seeking a Quality Engineer to serve as the primary customer contact for quality and technical issues on ABB Critical Power projects. You will lead communications, provide onsite support, and coordinate action plans and timelines with engineering, service, and product management.

Responsibilities include approving designs, performing verifications, and ensuring safety and contractual compliance across multiple projects. 40% travel may be required; remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7+ years' experience in electrical distribution or power systems.
• Master's degree with 5+ years' experience in electrical distribution or power systems.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams; ability to leverage AI tools in job functions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ABB's primary customer contact for quality and technical issues, leading communications, onsite support, action plans, and resolution timelines.
• Act as the technical/design authority for engineering deliverables on moderate- to high-complexity projects.
• Review and approve designs, perform verification and peer reviews, and ensure compliance with safety/quality/contractual requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges; communicate product gaps and market trends to commercial/product teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, service, supply chain, sales, and product management.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, including work plans, cost estimates, RFQs, supplier evaluations, and delivery of outputs.
