Hardware Hawaii, a local retail hardware and lumber business, seeks a Sales Manager to lead customer-focused sales and drive revenue in our Hawaii store. The role requires building relationships with walk-up customers and contractors, coaching the sales team, and aligning targets with company goals to deliver outstanding service and profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Associates degree (AA) or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years sales experience.
• Basic knowledge of lumber, building materials and hardware.
• Proven sales and personnel management abilities.
• Internet and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to negotiate, be innovative and persuasive.
• Interact professionally with customers, employees and contractors.
• Effective presentation and training skills with large or small groups.

Responsibilities

• Prospects, qualifies and generates sales within policy, handling walk-up and established customers.
• Identifies revenue opportunities through communications, programs and activities.
• Monitors market conditions and stays up-to-date on industry competitors.
• Telephones prospects to identify contacts, qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline.
• Identifies and closes additional purchases by customers' communities.
• Responds promptly to customer information requests and follows up to build rapport.
• Attends sales meetings, provides input and helps reach revenue goals and forecasts.
• Keeps knowledge up-to-date on e-commerce developments; attends industry seminars.
• Assists customers in resolving issues or salvaging lost business.
• Provides weekly activity and plan updates to supervisor.
