Job summary

Fillauer in Chattanooga, TN seeks a full-time Fabrication Technician to support the fabrication of custom orthotic and prosthetic devices. This role emphasizes plaster modifications and working in a lab setting with precise hand tools to deliver customized patient care.

You will configure devices to physician specifications, use hand and power tools, and ensure safety and quality standards while collaborating with clinicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience using basic shop hand tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work on feet for 8 hours.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record within policy.
• Ability to work independently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate custom upper extremity prosthetic and orthotic devices in a laboratory setting.
• Configure and construct devices to physician specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and equipment to achieve a precise fit and comfort.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble defective devices or appliances.
• Collaborate with clinicians to ensure appropriate device specifications.
• Interpret diagrams, schematics, and written instructions; maintain safety and quality standards.
