Job summary

The University of Wisconsin is seeking a Custodian for the Fluno Center within the Wisconsin Union Custodial Services. This temporary position focuses on cleaning conference spaces, setting up for events, and maintaining common areas, with coordination at the front desk regarding hotel guest needs.

Standard shifts are Saturday and Sunday nights, 5pm–9pm, with hourly compensation of $17.00 plus night, weekend, and holiday premiums.

Qualifications

  • Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, stoop and climb for the majority of the shift, including extended periods of physical activity.
  • Ability to lift and move supplies, equipment and material regularly up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
  • Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
  • Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
  • Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
  • Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs

Fluno Center custodian is responsible for cleaning conference spaces, setting up tables/chairs for building events, and cleaning building common areas (bathrooms, entrances, hallways, etc.). The position will coordinate with the front desk for hotel guest issues, which include delivering items, room cleaning, and troubleshooting maintenance issues in the room.

Standard shifts are Saturday and Sunday nights, from 5pm to 9pm.

Compensation:

$17.00 per hour

-Plus an additional $2.50 per hour for night hours worked (6pm-6am).

-Plus an additional $0.80 per hour for weekend hours worked.

-Plus Time and a half per hour for hours worked on designated legal holidays.

Required Qualifications:

-Ability to lift and move supplies, equipment and material regularly up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working at same position for 3 months or more- Preferred
