Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a Night Shift janitor to support a clean, safe hospital environment. Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, offices, lounges, hallways, and common areas, with duties such as dusting, vacuuming, and waste disposal.

The role requires dependable work ethic and the ability to communicate with staff and patients. The position is PRN with night hours (10:30pm–7:00am) and may include weekends/holidays.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED is required or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Experience with cleaning in healthcare settings is preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills for scheduling and communication.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain a clean and orderly environment in assigned areas, including patient rooms, offices, lounges, and hallways.
• Dispose of trash, recycling, and regulated medical waste properly.
• Operate cleaning equipment and perform duties such as dusting, mopping, waxing, and vacuuming.
• Relocate furniture and assist with general hospital operations as needed.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewResponsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned area. Responsible for proper removal of trash, recycling, and regulated medical waste.What you will doMaintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, offices, nurses' stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, stairwells, and lobby areas.Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: cleaning walls, ceilings, vents, lights, baseboards, windows/glass and replacing light bulbs.Maintains clean/neat floor surfaces as assigned. This may entail, but not limited to: dusting, buffing, scrubbing, strip/sealing, waxing, extracting, and vacuuming.Dispose of all trash in an appropriate manner including the pickup, boxing, shredding, and maintaining general cleanliness of trash receptacles.Participates in relocation of office and other general hospital furniture/equipment as necessary.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
