Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is hiring for an environmental services/housekeeping role with an Afternoon shift (3:30pm–12:00am). The position offers $17.50–$21.50 per hour, Monday–Friday with every other weekend and holidays, and requires 1–3 months of related experience along with basic computer skills.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, nurse stations, lounges, and lobby areas; stocking supplies; and maintaining professional relationships with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent.
• One to three months related experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean environment in patient rooms, offices, lounges, hallways, and lobbies.
• Participates in cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
• Keeps supplies stocked on carts and maintains cart readiness.
• Maintains good customer relations and communicates effectively with staff.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewResponsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.What you will doMaintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.Maintain good customer relations at all times.May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
