Job summary

Harford County Public Schools is seeking a Custodian I for Edgewood Middle School, shifts 2, to perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings and grounds. Starting salary is $34,089 with a max of $47,579, based on the AFSCME salary schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum ninth grade education required.
• One year of custodial, mechanical trade or related experience preferred.
• Must be physically able to perform essential duties including lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Operates custodial equipment such as brooms, mops, buffers, and vacuum cleaners.
• Collects and disposes of trash and maintains cleanliness of lavatories and floors.
• Assists in snow removal, lawn and playground maintenance, and emergency responses.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
