Job summary

The City of Greer, South Carolina, is seeking a Custodian I in its Engineering Department. This role cleans interior spaces, including jail, offices, and conference rooms, and performs basic maintenance such as lighting and plumbing tasks as needed.

Hours are 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with additional hours as required. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to support city facilities and public service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with custodial/maintenance experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
• Ability to perform cleaning and basic maintenance tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Clean interiors of City buildings and jail, including floors, bathrooms, and offices.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and scrubbing tools.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks like changing lights and plumbing fixes as needed.
• Maintain floors, walls, windows, and furniture in a sanitary condition.
• Communicate with supervisor and public; assist with daily job duties and errands.
• Assist with administrative tasks and training as required.
