The University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus is seeking a Custodian (Custodian I) to provide a safe, clean environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff on first shift. Located on campus in Iowa City, IA, the role pays $17.66 per hour with a robust benefits package.

Key duties include cleaning, restocking supplies, disinfecting restrooms, and handling routine custodial tasks. Candidates should be able to read, write, and follow directions, with prior cleaning experience preferred,

• Furniture moves and room setups.
• Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown (located at 500 E. Market Street, Iowa City, IA) is a 194-bed hospital that became part of Iowa’s only comprehensive academic health system on Jan. 31, 2024.

Characteristic Duties And Responsibilities

• General cleaning
• Trash removal
• Stock supplies for cart and custodial area
• Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors
• Carpet cleaning
• Unit/bed making
• Wall & ceiling washing
• Furniture moves and room setups
• Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

This position is performed fully on campus.
