Job summary

Grayson College is hiring a Custodian to maintain cleanliness across campus facilities. The role runs from 2:00 am to 10:00 am, Monday through Friday, with overtime possible for special events.

Starting pay is $13.50 per hour. Benefits include dental, health, vision insurance, paid time off, and tuition assistance for eligible employees and their families.

Qualifications

• Up to six months of similar or related experience.
• Must be able to operate cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn institutional software programs and systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs general custodial duties of all buildings.
• Empties, sanitizes, and relines trash receptacles.
• Sweeps and mops floors.
• Cleans and sanitizes bathroom fixtures and refills disposable items.
• Vacuums rooms with carpeting.
• Strips, scrubs, seals and buffs tile floors.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Custodian:

• Performs various custodial tasks to ensure the cleanliness of college facilities.


• Work hours are from 2:00 am to 10:00 am Monday - Friday.


• Overtime may be required for special events.

The pay rate starts at $13.50 per hour.

95% Performs general custodial duties of all buildings. Routine duties include but are not limited to the following:

• cleans carpets

5% Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Up to six months of similar or related experience. Two years responsible experience in a similar custodial job preferred.


• No high school degree required.


• Normal courtesy in dealing with others required.


• Must be able to operate cleaning equipment.


• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in English.


• Must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn institutional software programs and systems.


• Moderate physical exertion is required including walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, twisting, stretching, and reaching.


• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
