Grand Rapids Community College is seeking a Custodian to support cleaning and maintenance across campus facilities, including snow removal, opening/closing buildings, and monitoring fire alarms.
This full-time shift (10:00 PM–6:30 AM, Mon–Fri) pays hourly wages of $18.95–$20.12 plus a $0.55 night shift differential and includes benefits.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to operate custodial equipment, lift 50 pounds, and work flexible hours as required.
The custodian’s position is primarily to provide support at various college buildings as directed by the facilities operations building manager. The position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of facilities; the surrounding external adjacent area; performing minor maintenance; and snow removal from walkways. A major aspect besides cleaning of the facility is to ensure it is open and then secured at the end of day. Additionally, the individual must be cognizant of the fire alarm and security systems.
Schedule: 40 hours/52 weeks, Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
