Grand Rapids Community College is seeking a custodian to support multiple campus buildings, maintain cleanliness, and assist with minor maintenance. The 3rd shift schedule runs 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with a pay of $19.13 per hour plus a $0.55 per hour shift premium.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to work independently, and handle flexible scheduling. Training is provided; prior commercial cleaning in education settings is preferred. Reports to the Building Manager.

The custodian’s position is primarily to provide support at various college buildings as directed by the facilities operations building manager. The position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of facilities; the surrounding external adjacent area; performing minor maintenance; and snow removal from walkways. A major aspect besides cleaning of the facility is to ensure it is open and then secured at the end of day. Additionally, the individual must be cognizant of the fire alarm and security systems.
