Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital seeks an Environmental Services role to maintain a clean environment across patient rooms, offices, and public areas. Responsibilities include cleaning walls, ceilings, floors, and assisting with relocation of furniture and equipment.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and ability to meet work-hour requirements, with emphasis on safety and effective communication. PTO starts on day one, plus retirement contributions and mentorship opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and neat environment in patient rooms, offices, nurses' stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, stairwells, and lobby areas.
  • Perform cleaning tasks – walls, ceilings, vents, lights, baseboards, windows/glass, surface maintenance, light bulb replacement.
  • Maintain floor surfaces – dusting, buffing, scrubbing, strip/sealing, waxing, extracting, vacuuming.
  • Dispose of all trash appropriately: pickup, boxing, shredding, and keep receptacles clean.
  • Participate in relocation of office and hospital furniture/equipment as necessary.

Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America)
Pay Range: $17.50 - $21.50 (Actual pay depends on experience)

Overview

Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in the assigned area. Proper removal and disposal of trash, recycling, and regulated medical waste. Includes participation in cleaning activities, moving furniture/equipment, and compliance to safety standards.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; or one to three months related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
