Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Environmental Services Associate for the Afternoon Shift (United States of America). The role is primarily PRN, Monday–Friday 6:00PM–11:30PM with every other weekend and holidays required, focusing on maintaining a clean hospital environment.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required or equivalent.
  • Ability to work evenings (6:00PM–11:30PM) and some weekends/holidays.
  • Experience in healthcare or hospital cleaning is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean, neat environment in patient rooms, offices, nurses' stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, and lobby areas.
  • Cleans walls, ceilings, vents, lights, baseboards, windows, and replaces light bulbs as needed.
  • Maintains clean floor surfaces: dusting, buffing, scrubbing, waxing, and vacuuming.
  • Disposes of trash properly and manages recycling and waste.
  • Moves office and hospital furniture/equipment as required.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is listed below. Actual pay rate dependent upon experience.

$17.50 - $21.50

Position Highlights

Monday-Friday 6:00PM-11:30PM; PRN as needed

A Brief Overview

Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned area. Responsible for proper removal of trash, recycling, and regulated medical waste.

What You Will Do
  • Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, offices, nurses' stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, stairwells, and lobby areas.
  • Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: cleaning walls, ceilings, vents, lights, baseboards, windows/glass and replacing light bulbs.
  • Maintains clean/neat floor surfaces as assigned. This may entail, but not limited to: dusting, buffing, scrubbing, strip/sealing, waxing, extracting, and vacuuming.
  • Dispose of all trash in an appropriate manner including the pickup, boxing, shredding, and maintaining general cleanliness of trash receptacles.
  • Participates in relocation of office and other general hospital furniture/equipment as necessary.

Required Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience
  • High School or GED Equivalent :or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
