Job summary

Santa Barbara Zoo is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain the Zoo’s clean, inviting spaces and support guest experience. You will help uphold presentation standards and report safety concerns to the Facilities & Horticulture team.

This Regular, full-time, non-exempt role offers a Wednesday–Sunday schedule (11:00 am–7:30 pm) with pay between $19.80 and $20.80 per hour. A high school diploma or GED and basic janitorial experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Prior paid custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors in buildings using cleaning tools and solutions.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, replace supplies, and maintain fixtures.
• Picks up trash, reports safety issues, and keeps work areas tidy.
• Greet guests and assist with information while upholding cleanliness standards.
