Job summary

Oakland Zoo is seeking two part-time seasonal custodians to maintain the zoo grounds and facilities. Shifts are 20–28 hours per week, evenings, nights and weekends, starting 11/01/2026 and ending 02/19/2027, with potential extension based on organizational needs.

The pay rate is $22.07 per hour to align with internal compensation philosophy. Candidates should be able to safely operate cleaning equipment, follow schedules, and interact professionally with staff and guests.

Qualifications

• Operation of cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
• Ability to read label instructions for cleaning chemicals.
• Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, and common spaces.
• Handle waste, recycling, and supply management.
• Support building operations and respond to cleaning requests.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report hazards.
• Perform related duties as required.
