ESU is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 to join the Facilities Management team. The role supports building care across university facilities, focusing on cleaning, sanitizing, and routine maintenance.
Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, with 90% indoor work and occasional outdoor duties in winter weather. Applicants must lift up to 50 lbs, read/write English, and pass a background check; equal opportunity employer.
As the Custodial Worker 1, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable completing routine custodial care for the University Buildings and surrounding grounds. You will be an active member of the Facilities Management team and will work closely with the Manager of Building Care Services to help achieve consistent building care for ESU. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your custodial and maintenance experience while safely using cleaning products to sanitize the buildings and surrounding area. To be successful in this role, you must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have time management skills. Your normal hours will be Monday to Friday 11:00 PM to 07:00 AM. You may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Custodial Worker 1. Indoor work is 90% of the role with 10% of the role occasionally completed outside in the snow and or rain.
