Job summary

Georgetown University is seeking a full-time Custodian to perform general and specific cleaning and maintenance tasks on campus at 37th & O Street NW, Washington, DC. The incumbent will follow a detailed cleaning plan, ensure a clean, safe environment, and may handle snow removal, water or fire cleanup, and event support.

Hours are 40 per week with on-campus work designation. A valid driver’s license and completion of a cleaning training program are required or preferred, along with experience

Qualifications

• HS or GED preferred.
• One year of custodial work experience is preferred.
• Requires valid and current driver’s license from Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia.
• Must be able to relate custodial and maintenance problems clearly to supervisor and/or the Work Management Center. Will be required to complete a training program in building cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and specific cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Follow detailed cleaning plan and safety rules.
• Snow and ice removal and cleanup after water or fire damage.
• Support special events as needed; work up to 28,000–35,000 sq ft per eight-hour shift.
