Job summary

Georgetown University is seeking an on-campus Custodian to perform general and specific cleaning and maintenance tasks, providing a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for the University community.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a valid driver’s license. It is a full-time position based on the 37th & O St NW Washington, DC campus with emergency support responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license in VA, MD, or DC.
• Reading, writing, and conversing in English to read and understand instructions.
• Able to relate custodial issues clearly to supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Performs general and specific cleaning and maintenance tasks to provide a clean, safe and pleasant physical environment.
• Other duties include furniture moving, office cleaning, classroom cleaning, restroom cleaning, exterior entrances cleaning, emergency support, floorcare, and event setup/breakdown; cleaning all public spaces.
• Availability to work during emergencies such as staffing shortages and snow removal.
• Performance of duties involves using tools, equipment, and supplies of the trade.
