Job summary

Georgetown University seeks a full-time custodian to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks across a designated footprint in Washington, DC. You will follow a detailed cleaning plan, ensure a clean, safe environment, and perform additional duties during emergencies or events as assigned.

The role requires basic English, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to complete training in building cleaning. Schedule flexibility and teamwork are essential at all times.

Qualifications

• HS or GED preferred.
• One year of custodial work experience is preferred.
• Requires valid and current driver’s license from MD, VA, or DC.
• Requires a basic knowledge of English including the ability to read, write and speak English with understanding to read and understand product label instructions and University policies and procedures.
• Must be able to relate custodial and maintenance problems clearly to supervisor and/or the Work Management Center.
• Will be required to complete a training program in building cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and specific cleaning and maintenance tasks to provide a clean, safe and pleasant environment.
• Assist with snow and ice removal, water or fire damage cleanup, and event support as needed.
• Work with standard tools and observe safety rules and procedures.
• Be flexible with schedule to accommodate emergencies and staffing needs.
