Job summary

Washington County Public Schools is hiring a Custodial Engineer I for Western Heights Middle School. This 12-month, 8-hour per day, first-shift role reports to the Facilities Operations Manager. The position includes benefits and a grade-9 ESP salary scale range.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, physical ability to perform manual tasks, and reliable attendance. Preferred candidates have prior cleaning and basic mechanical/carpentry experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral or simple written instructions.
• Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning operations: scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, waxing, dusting, and related tasks.
• Provide a presence to deter theft and keep the school secure.
• Monitor heating/air conditioning systems and report issues as needed.
• Assist with minor emergency repairs and maintenance.
• Keep grounds tidy and manage custodial supplies and records.
• Demonstrate courteous, professional demeanor to all stakeholders.
