Job summary

Washington County Public Schools seeks a Custodial Engineer I at Western Heights Middle School to maintain facilities, ensuring a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

This 12-month, 8-hour shift position is classified under Grade 9 of the ESP Salary Scale ($22.88 - $41.38) and reports to the Facilities Operations Manager. The role includes routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and grounds care to support school operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Ability to perform manual tasks and operate gas-powered equipment.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Willingness to participate in in-service training.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks such as scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, waxing, dusting using hand or mechanical tools.
• Provide a presence to deter theft and vandalism and protect the school.
• Care for heating/air conditioning systems as scheduled and assist with minor repairs.
• Clean and care for the grounds and maintain custodial equipment/inventory.
• Keep records and order supplies as needed.
• Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders.
