Job summary

Manhattan Youth is seeking a Content Specialist to oversee and strengthen the quality of COMPASS program content across sites in Manhattan. You will develop and review lesson plans, observe activities, provide coaching to staff, and deliver training in curriculum development and classroom management.

The part-time position requires 9 hours per week per site, typically 3:00–6:00 p.m., with travel between program sites as needed and additional planning time scheduled within assigned hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with at least 3 years of supervisory or oversight experience involving program content development, staff supervision, training, and coaching.
• Experience developing curricula, lesson plans, and instructional activities; experience providing staff coaching or professional development preferred.
• Knowledge of and passion for educational and enrichment programming across youth-focused activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support implementation of program content across enrichment areas, aligning with mission and goals.
• Develop, review, and adapt curricula and lesson plans with clear objectives and measurable outcomes.
• Observe activities delivered by staff and provide feedback to improve instruction and engagement.
• Provide staff training, coaching, and professional development in curriculum development, instructional strategies, and classroom management.
• Collaborate with program leadership and school partners to align activities with school-day goals.
• Maintain curriculum resources and share effective practices across sites.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and communicate recommendations to leadership.
