Job summary

The role blends leadership, fieldwork, and technical reporting. You’ll mentor staff, coordinate field surveys, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with clients, agencies, and Tribal representatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in archaeology, anthropology, history, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years archaeology experience (field surveys, reports, and agency coordination).
• At least 2 years in environmental consulting or agency settings.
• Strong knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and Section 106 compliance.
• Experience with northern and central California prehistoric and historic archaeology.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Valid California driver’s license.
• Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee cultural resources projects across Northern California
• Manage research, field surveys, data recovery, and artifact analysis
• Direct mitigation monitoring programs and reporting efforts
• Prepare proposals and technical documents
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, Tribal representatives, and internal teams
