Job summary

BKF is seeking a Cultural Resources Discipline Lead to run and grow our team of archaeologists, paleontologists, and tribal resources specialists. The role can be remote or hybrid, with strong potential to expand the cultural resources practice and client base across California.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in leadership within cultural resources, deep knowledge of NHPA/NEPA/CEQA, and a track record in strategic growth and client service. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in progressive leadership roles overseeing cultural resource professionals.
• Strong understanding of federal and state historic preservation laws.
• Ability to manage teams and communicate with clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cultural resources compliance and lead business development to grow the portfolio.
• Coordinate and supervise field assessments and reports for archaeology and paleontology.
• Lead project management, bid estimates, and client outreach across California.
• Present thought leadership at conferences and prepare technical reports.
