Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a Cultural Resources Discipline Lead to manage and expand our team of archaeologists, paleontologists, and tribal resources specialists across California. The role combines technical leadership with business development to grow the cultural resources portfolio.

The ideal candidate will oversee cultural resources compliance, lead surveys and reports, mentor staff, and drive client growth with strong internal support. Remote/hybrid options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geospatial sciences, geography, biology, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Preference for Secretary of the Interior Professional Qualification Standards in archaeology/anthropology or related field.

Responsibilities

• Invest in cross-selling cultural resources services to current clients and develop new clients for cultural resource monitoring and CEQA/NEPA compliance.
• Provide field assessments and written reports for due diligence and resource constraints of archaeological/paleontological resources.
• Provide monitoring support for construction projects with archaeological/paleontological resource concerns.
• Coordinate monitoring with indigenous tribal partners.
• Develop PRIMP for complex projects.
• Lead and author cultural resource assessments in compliance with NHPA, NEPA, and CEQA.
