Job summary

American Senior Communities is seeking an Assistant Culinary Manager in California. You will support meal planning and preparation to enhance residents’ dining experiences and contribute to a high-quality kitchen operation within a senior living community.

Responsibilities include assisting with hiring, ordering, scheduling, and training of culinary staff. A high school diploma or GED is required, with sanitation training eligible on hire. Cooking experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion of an approved sanitation course (can complete upon hire).
• Cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make a difference in the lives of residents by providing nutritious meals that enhance quality of life.
• Assist the Culinary Services Manager to ensure nourishing, palatable, and well-balanced meals and support the culinary team.
• Assist with interview process for new culinary team members, ordering food and supplies, scheduling, and training new staff.
