Job summary

Sonida Senior Living's Summit Place & Summit Court in Anderson, SC seeks a dedicated Culinary Services Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in an independent living and memory care setting. You will assist the Culinary Services Director, maintain high sanitary standards, and ensure timely service while coordinating with a team in a warm, resident-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• Experience with volume meal preparation for large groups preferred.
• Some supervisory experience preferred; ability to read recipes and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves nutritious meals in a sanitary, timely manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an organized dining services department.
• Prepares meals for assigned shifts and maintains service standards.
• Maintains dining service standards including customer service and kitchen cleanliness.
• Cleans after preparation and service; labels and stores leftovers properly.

Culinary Services Cook Responsibilities Include

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
