Job summary

The Woodlands of Columbus, a Sonida Senior Living community, seeks a dedicated Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in a well-organized, sanitary environment. You will assist the Culinary Services Director in running a smooth dining operation and ensure high-quality service to residents.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, a Food Service Sanitation Certificate, and experience handling large-scale meal preparation while working as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate per state/local requirements.
• Experience with volume meal preparation for large groups preferred.
• Some supervisory experience is a plus; ability to read recipes and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in a timely, sanitary manner.
• Assist Culinary Services Director in maintaining an efficient dining department.
• Prepare meals for assigned shifts and ensure quality service to residents.
• Maintain dining service standards and cleanliness in dining rooms and kitchen.
• Clean up after preparation and service; label and store leftovers properly.

Culinary Services Cook Responsibilities Include

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labelled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
