Job summary

The Residence of Chardon, a Sonida Senior Living community, is seeking a Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals in a sanitary and timely manner. You will support the Culinary Services Director and uphold high dining standards for residents.

Requirements include High School diploma and a Food Service Sanitation Certificate, plus experience with volume meal prep. Supervisory experience is a plus; flexible shifts available at our Chardon, OH location.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate per State/Local requirements.
• Experience with volume meal preparation for large groups; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents including delivery, service, and cleanliness of dining areas.
• Cleans after preparation and service; maintains work area, pots, and equipment.
• Ensures leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored properly.

Culinary Services Cook Responsibilities Include

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
