Job summary

The Wellington at Dayton, a Sonida Senior Living community, is seeking a dependable Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare, and serve meals in a bustling senior living environment.

You will support the Culinary Services Director, handle high-volume meal preparation, and ensure sanitary, timely service with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• Experience in volume meal preparation for large groups preferred.
• Supervisory experience is a plus; ability to read recipes, work in a team, and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an organized dining services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains dining service standards including service, customer care, and cleanliness.
• Cleans after preparation and service; maintains area, pots, and equipment.
• Ensures leftovers are properly labeled, dated and stored.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
