Job summary

Oak View Group in Owensboro, Kentucky is seeking a Kitchen Prep Cook to maintain a clean, safe kitchen and support events as a buffet or station attendant. Prepare foods according to recipes and guidelines, wash and organize equipment, and help keep the dish room in order.

This part-time role pays $15.00 per hour. Benefits include a 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) Matching. The position will remain open through December 18, 2026, at Western Kentucky’s Owensboro Convention Center.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cook or prep cook is preferred.
• Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment listed in responsibilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced event-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares hot and cold foods following recipes and portioning requirements.
• Displays knowledge of culinary preparation skills and teaches others proper preparation and food presentation.
• Assists in the control of food and labor costs.
• Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Assists with monthly inventory.
• Provides high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests.
• Participates as a team player with preparation, service, and delivery duties.
• Reports maintenance needed for kitchen equipment.
