Job summary

Nexus of Palos Hills is seeking a Food Service Director to lead the Culinary and Nutritional Services Department. The role ensures daily delivery of quality nutritional services, maintains clean, safe food preparation areas, and oversees staff performance and inventory to support resident care and satisfaction.

The FSD will manage budgets, develop staffing plans, and coordinate with Nursing, Maintenance, and Housekeeping to ensure high-quality, compliant service.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, and directs the Culinary and Nutritional Services Department and its activities.
• Directs the entire staff and ensures meals are plateable and appetizing using planned menus and standard recipes.
• Maintains stock levels and uses purchasing/inventory processes to meet needs.
• Coordinates services with Nursing, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and other departments.
• Plans and executes catering needs and special events for residents and staff.
• Maintains quality assurance programs and ensures sanitary, safe work areas and equipment.
