Job summary

Compass Group USA in Smithfield, RI offers paid Culinary and Hospitality internships through the FLIK Hospitality Group, providing hands-on kitchen and guest service experience with mentors and a focus on culinary operations, hospitality standards, safety, and sustainability.

Interns rotate through FOH and BOH roles, assist with catering events, engage with guests, and learn via on‑the‑job training plus development courses.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a college/university pursuing a Hospitality Management and/or Culinary Arts degree.
• Meet university GPA requirement for Internship.
• Successful completion of sanitation standards training.
• Successful completion of relevant knife skills and/or Intro to Culinary coursework.
• Available to work 20–40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through FOH and BOH stations depending on location or needs.
• Duties may include working in stations such as pizza, deli, salad bar or grill; assist with BOH prep areas.
• Engage with guests and tailor service to dietary needs.
• Review culinary and front‑of‑house standards and adhere to service guidelines.
• Support catering events and assist with setup and execution.
