Job summary

Kettering Health Main Campus in Kettering, OH, is hiring a Culinary Associate II for the First Shift on a full-time basis. You will manage food preparation, serving, room service, and related paperwork while delivering patient and staff meals with accuracy.

The role emphasizes safe food handling, customer service, and collaboration with kitchen and dish-room staff. Prior food service or customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Able to walk and stand for long periods.
• Able to push and pull wheeled carts.
• Able to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to tolerate frequent temperature changes, working around equipment that generates heat, steam and cold.

Responsibilities

• Manages order-taking and preparation, cash register operations, and related paperwork.
• Follows proper hand hygiene and uses gloves for ready-to-eat foods.
• Interacts with patients and internal/external customers, describes coffee drinks and products, and communicates allergens.
• Operates and cleans kitchen equipment including coffee brewers, espresso machine, grill, fryer and scales.
• Dates and monitors food items per FDA dating guidelines and FIFO, minimizing time foods are out of refrigeration.
• Prepares, assembles, serves, cooks, or bakes food and beverages per recipes.
• Handles cash and transactions through MyMicros with small variances.
