Job summary

Vail Resorts in Colorado is seeking a Culinary Assistant Manager for the winter season 2026/2027. You will assist the GM in day-to-day kitchen operations, lead the culinary team, and uphold food quality and safety to ensure an exceptional dining experience for guests.

The role partners with the GM on administrative tasks, budgeting, payroll, and safety compliance, with opportunities for growth through Epic Service training. Starting wage range is listed; housing is available. 18+ required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of restaurant experience with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven leadership, problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs.
• TIPS certification within 30 days.
• ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist GM in day-to-day restaurant operations and manage culinary team.
• Maintain facility, food preparation standards, safety and sanitation.
• Develop, train, and evaluate menu items; oversee line checks.
• Lead daily staff briefings and weekly safety meetings.
• Oversee inventory, purchasing, stock levels, and waste reporting.
• Resolve guest issues to protect GX scores.
• Support administrative tasks: budgets, payroll, timecard accuracy.
• Assist with vendor communications and invoices.
• Contribute to long-term planning and efficiency projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
