Job summary

Grand Lake Health System is seeking a dedicated cook to join our food service team in Georgia. The role focuses on planning production activities, preparing meals, and ensuring food quality and safety in a hospital setting.

The candidate will portion and present dishes, maintain portion control, and manage storage with FIFO practices. A high school diploma is required, and weekend rotation plus schedule flexibility are expected.

Responsibilities

• Plans production activities to ensure timely preparation of food to fulfill menu requirements.
• Portions/serves food neatly and attractively.
• Maintains established portion control when portioning/serving foods.
• Covers, labels, and dates all opened, prepped, or leftover food items placed in storage.
• Prepares food items according to standardized recipes; produces a quality product.
• Checks temperatures of food products to verify that cooking and holding temperatures are within acceptable ranges; corrects temperature problems.
• Maintains frozen and refrigerated food storage area by assisting with storing deliveries, rotating stock, on a FIFO method, and keeping walk-in freezer and coolers neat and orderly.

• Full-Time 5:00am - 5:00pm or 8:00am to 8:00pm
• Every Other Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required
