ACC Senior Services is seeking a Culinary Assistant to support cooks, plate meals, and maintain dining room operations. The role includes cleaning, restocking, and assisting the Culinary Services Manager with daily tasks outside meal times.
Must obtain a food handler card within 30 days, have good English communication, basic kitchen sanitation knowledge, and a high school diploma; 1–2 years of related experience preferred. This position may require evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
The Culinary Assistant is responsible for providing a high standard of service. Plating food prepared by the cooks to the standard established by the Culinary Services Manager. Dining room maintenance, dining room breakdown, and set‑up. This role also includes cleaning, re‑stocking, and assisting the Culinary Services Manager with daily tasks when working outside of meal service times. A positive attitude, a willingness to work in a team‑oriented work environment, and a clean, professional appearance are required.
Must be able to properly lift 30 pounds. Physical demands vary from sedentary activities to hands‑on resident assistance, which includes lifting, bending from the waist, stooping, and twisting as conditions warrant. May include infrequent maximum assists of residents over 100 lbs. Objects or residents weighing more than 50 pounds should not be moved without the assistance of another worker and/or appropriate equipment. Must be able to work standing for prolonged periods. Hours of duty may be long and irregular, including evenings, weekends and some holidays.
