Job summary

Grand Lake Health System is seeking a hospital food service teammate to support meal production, portion, and presentation in a high-volume kitchen. You will follow standardized recipes and ensure food safety and quality across all dishes.

Responsibilities include temperature checks, proper storage, rotating stock, and maintaining an organized workspace while supporting flexible scheduling and weekend rotations.

• Willingness to rotate shifts and weekends as needed.

Job description

• Full-Time 5:00am - 5:00pm or 8:00am to 8:00pm
• EveryOther Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Plans production activities (and/or assists co-workers, as needed) to ensure appropriate and timely production of food to fulfill menu requirements.
• Portions/serves food neatly and attractively.
• Maintains established portion control when portioning/serving foods.
• Covers, labels, and dates all opened, prepped, or leftover food items placed in storage.
• Prepares food items according to standardized recipes; produces a quality product.
• Checks temperatures of food products to verify that cooking and holding temperatures are within acceptable ranges; corrects temperature problems.
• Maintains frozen and refrigerated food storage area by assisting with storing deliveries, rotating stock, on a FIFO method, and keeping walk-in freezer and coolers neat and orderly.

Requirements

• Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.

Education/Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• Quality cooking experience preferred; food service experience preferred.
