Job summary

Springs Rescue Mission is seeking a Culinary Instructor I to lead hands-on culinary training for residents and volunteers in a Christian environment. You will assist in meal preparation, supervise volunteers, and ensure safe, quality food service for clients and the community in Colorado Springs.

The role requires 3+ years in professional kitchen supervision, with ServSafe preferred and an Associates degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years’ experience supervising/cooking in a professional kitchen.
• ServSafe certification preferred; must obtain certificate within 6 months.
• Associates degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
• American Culinary Federation or National Restaurant Association affiliation a plus.
• Experience with homeless/mentally ill populations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Train SRM Culinary Arts students and supervise volunteers.
• Prepare meals and ensure quality hospitality for SRM clients and guests.
• Oversee food ordering, receiving, storage, and documentation.
• Maintain health, safety, and food handling standards per USDA/OSHA/ServeSafe.
• Prepare reports/presentations for management and external audiences.
• Engage and recognize volunteers to support SRM missions.
