Job summary

Metropolitan Ministries, inc. is seeking a dedicated Culinary Arts instructor to deliver classroom and hands-on kitchen training for CAP students and to manage food production at the assigned shelter in St. Petersburg, FL.

You will supervise interns, mentor students, and collaborate with Tampa Bay chefs to create externships and job placements, while aligning with KPI and annual plans. This role requires strong faith alignment and commitment to service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Food Management, Culinary Arts, Restaurant Management, or related field preferred.
• A Certified Food Safety Manager Certificate is required.
• Minimum 3–5 years of work experience in the food service or culinary arts industry.
• One year of successful experience teaching in related subjects at the post-secondary level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students through classroom training and hands-on kitchen demonstrations per CAP curriculum.
• Demonstrate proper use of food service equipment and techniques; train students accordingly.
• Coordinate with Metro kitchen leadership to schedule prep work and address student issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of kitchen and classrooms; ensure proper food handling.
• Order and prepare inventory for culinary lab and dining operations within budget.
