Job summary

Oldcastle APG in Tyrone, GA is seeking an Equipment and Machine Operator to run plant machinery in a safety-conscious environment. You will read specifications, adjust settings, monitor for defects, and perform basic maintenance to ensure high-quality output.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and maintain accuracy while meeting deadlines. A flexible schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to be self-starting and work independently.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel is preferred.
• Maintain high accuracy in all tasks.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Review product for consistency and quality compliance.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and meet deadlines.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
