Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools is seeking a TECHNICIAN: CAREER TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION to perform technical and administrative tasks supporting CTE operations. The role includes assisting students, managing recertification processes, coordinating PAC committees, and organizing certification tests across various programs.

You will also assist with setting up shops, maintaining inventories, and supporting teachers with technology and logistics.

Qualifications

• Able to perform essential duties with accuracy and quality.
• Strong writing and editing skills are required.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate with diverse populations.
• Proficiency with common business software (MS Office) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and demonstrate operation of hand and power tools during course work.
• Adhere to safety guidelines per Maryland regulations.
• Collaborate with staff to identify requirements and deadlines.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders throughout processes.
• Review documentation and provide feedback for revisions as needed.
• Assist teachers with setup of technology (laptops, projectors, etc.).
• Maintain safety data sheets and inventories of equipment/tools.
• Organize certification tests (NATEF, NCCER, ServSafe, CNA/GNA/CCMA).
• Work with students individually or in small groups to implement programs and activities.
• Monitor student progress and employ intervention techniques to boost engagement.
• Document progress toward goals and objectives.
• Provide class coverage and telephone support to staff.
• Assist with planning events (SkillsUSA, Harvest drives, etc.).
• Participate in professional development and in-service sessions.
